Treat yourself this new year with a big batch of hot fudge & homemade ice cream. This sauce recipe is SO easy, done in 10 minutes and is just a treat. Hot fudge the way it’s meant to be… thick, shiny, rich and gooey. It lasts forever in the fridge, although I give it a few days, a week tops before its gone. Another example of…. there’s nothing like it at the store.
The sugar free diets can wait another day. We’re celebrating over here.
I've tried all the sauces… the low sugar, the ‘healthier options’, the old fashioned kind, adding the evaporated milk… and this one lands on the best one out there. I've attempted and bombed many sauces. But I’ve finally found the ONE. I know you’ll love it too.
Only regret you’ll have is not making a double batch.
Throw everything in a heavy duty small saucepan on medium heat. Boil for around 5 minutes until everything has melted and sugars are dissolved.
Take off the heat and throw in the salt, vanilla, and chocolate chips. Stir until creamy and divine.
Sauce Ingredients
2 T butter
2/3 cup whipping cream
1/3 cup light corn syrup or golden syrup
1/4 brown sugar
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla
Combine everything but the chips, vanilla and salt in a small heavy duty saucepan on medium heat. Lightly boil for around 5 minutes until all is melted and sugar is dissolved. Stir often.
Take off heat and add the chips, salt and vanilla. Whisk until smooth, shiny and perfect.
Makes about 2 cups. Cool and store in the fridge. Lasts a few months, but you’ll devour long before then.
